Glenwood High School

Opportunity Through Learning

The Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) at Glenwood High aims to provide a forum to promote communication and co-operation between the school and its community.

We also assist in providing funding for additional resources for our students. In order to do this, the P&C has introduced a voluntary yearly levy of $10 per child (capped at a maximum of $30 per family). This levy enables the P&C to organise major optional fund raising events (e.g. BBQ at school dance parties) and forward the profits onto the school. We understand that many parents are extremely busy and may not have the time to sell chocolates or raffle tickets and this levy removes this time taking burden from our school community whilst still allowing the P&C to provide additional resources for our students. The levy is invoiced yearly at the beginning of Term 1.

If you would like further information, please download the P&C information form .

The P&C meets regularly for members of our school community to receive information, discuss issues, contribute ideas and give feedback to the School Executive.

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month (excluding holidays) at 7pm in the conference room at school.

Our meetings provide a friendly, open forum to welcome parents to the school and to allow the community to discuss matters of a general nature relating to the school. We are also fortunate to have guest speakers in the form of our teachers who gladly give up their time inform us on important happenings or events at our school.

You may choose to attend our monthly meetings, (it's completely optional) or simply just receive information about P&C events and our minutes through your email. This is a great introduction to our P&C and a simple way to keep informed.

The following dates are for the 2024 meetings:

  • WEDNESDAYS at 7.00pm in GHS Meeting Rooms
  • Wednesday 6th March - 2024 AGM and Meeting #1
  • Wednesday 1st May - Meeting #2
  • Wednesday 7th August - Meeting #3
  • Wednesday 6th November - Meeting #4
  • 2025
  • Wednesday 5th March 2025 - AGM and Meeting #1

If you would like to be added to the P&C email Distribution List (receive Minutes of Meetings and other P&C related emails as appropriate), please email to be added to our mailing list.

The Executive

The P&C Executive are elected to act on the behalf of the larger P&C Committee. Their responsibility is to ensure that parental input is represented within the school community. They also oversee the P&C's financial contribution to the school. All Executive members will be co-signatories on the P&C bank account (minimum of two signatures are required for a valid cheque.) In addition, each Executive member will have an individual area of responsibility. All contributions of time are on a voluntary basis, however it is expected that P&C Executive members be present at all P&C meetings, P&C functions and other school functions as necessary, unless unforeseen circumstances prevent this.

The areas of responsibility can be found on the executive descriptions document (PDF 58KB)
