SCHOOL LEADERS 2024

House Captains

At Glenwood High School there is a focus on house spirit with students gaining house points for achievements in all endeavors including academic, cultural, sporting and social.

House captains are elected in year 11 giving senior students another opportunity to develop their leadership skills. Throughout the year the house captains coordinate sporting and social activities to engage the student body. Of particular note is the focus on spirit week at the beginning of the year to welcome year 7 students and other new families in the Glenwood community. Other activities include game days, talent quests and the annual swimming and athletic carnivals.

Student Representative Council

The student representative council (SRC) consists of students from years 7-12. Over the course of the year, members are provided with opportunities to be a student voice in the decision making processes of the school and develop their abilities to work collaboratively with others as a successful team. The leadership skills and confidence of many students has developed as a result of their involvement with the SRC. As part of the SRC, members have dedicated much of their personal time to.

  • Ensure the smooth operation of school events, such as information evening, parent-teacher evenings, harmony day and orientation day.
  • Fundraise for events such as jeans for genes day and the UNICEF day for children.
  • Encourage school spirit by holding the school dance, student vs teacher matches, school stalls and delivering roses on valentine's day.
