Glenwood High School is celebrating World Autism Awareness
People with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) have problems with social and communication skills. Many people with ASD also have unusual ways of learning, paying attention, or reacting to sensations.
At Glenwood High School we have a large group of students with ASD in the support unit and the mainstream classes. A lot of the students with ASD are often misunderstood due to their differences.
We are going to be holding a raffle and bake sale to help raise some much needed funds for our amazing Support Unit, as well as making the local community aware of Autism.
The funds raised will go towards buying some exciting educational resources such as iPad Apps, dirt and seedlings for our vegetable garden, sensory equipment and the development of new programs.
Baked goods will be on sale at recess and lunch. The stall will be set up the bottom of A Block in the quad.
