Year 7 Camp - Great Aussie Bush Camp

The Great Aussie Bush Camp - Tea Gardens Year 7 2020

Monday 2nd November to Wednesday 4th November 2020

As part of the transition process into High School, a camp has been planned for 2020 Year 7 students. The camp will take place in Term 4 Week 4 2020.

Campers and staff will depart from school by bus on Monday 2nd November 2020 at 7.30am. The estimated time of return on Wednesday 4th November is 3 pm.

Students are to be collected from the school Quad and not the bus bays on Glenwood Park Drive.

Updates will be posted to the School’s Facebook page in relation to time of return.

Over the course of the camp students will:

• Participate in team building and co-operative activities

• Enjoy a variety of outdoors sports such as rope climbing, raft building & kayaking

• Undergo challenge courses such as the high ropes, giant swing and flying fox

• Enjoy the “Commando Quest” and a games night during the evenings

• Extend their friendships as they get to know Year 7 students in other classes

During all activities, students will be supervised by Glenwood High staff, in addition to experienced and trained camp leaders.

PLEASE NOTE THE CAMPSITE IS LIMITED TO 200 STUDENTS.

Cost: The cost will be approximately $340.00. This includes meals, accommodation, day & night activities, transport and other Stage 4 Wellbeing Programs.

Our preferred method of payment is our Parent Online System – (POP). Please note: Deposits will not be accepted after Tuesday 20th October 2020 or if the camp student limit is full. The balance of the camp can be paid no later than Friday 23rd October 2020.

The Great Aussie Bush Camp have developed a COVID Safety Plan to minimise risks associated with COVID-19. If your child develops flu-like symptoms in the days prior to camp, they are unable to attend camp without clearance. Please contact Miss Kearney to notify the school in this case. If your child develops flu-like symptoms at camp, parents/carers will be contacted to make arrangements for your child to be collected from the Great Aussie Bush Camp.

You will need to complete and sign the attached permission note and return it to the front office by Friday 23rd October 2020. Please ensure you have paid your deposit via our online payment system when returning the consent form.
